HEALTH Minister Lord Philip Hunt visited Manchester to detail government plans for the future of dentistry and efforts to tackle high rates of tooth decay in the region.
Bury and Rochdale Health Authority has already been assured funding for a dental access centre to provide a full range of NHS dental treatment to patients when they need it. Lord Hunt addressed around 100 dentists, dental practice staff and senior NHS managers on the Government's national dental stratgey. at a conference at the Bridgewater Hall.
Existing NHS practices in Bury and Rochdale have also received £40,000 to help expand and treat more patients as part of a government push to improve dental treatment.
