THE outcome of toxicological tests are awaited by a coroner in the case of a Radcliffe woman who died in hospital three days after being admitted.
Bury District Coroner Mr Barrie Williams has opened the inquest in the case of mother-of-two Mrs Beverley Jane Robertson (33), of Coronation Gardens, Radcliffe, who was admitted to Bury General Hospital on New Year's Day, which was also her birthday.
Evidence of identification was given to the coroner by Mrs Robertson's husband, Mr James Andrew Stephen Robertson, of Hind Street, Heywood, who said they had been married in 1992 but had been separated over the last few months.
They had spoken of a reconciliation. Mrs Robertson had been diagnosed two-and-a-half years ago with a heart irregularity for which she received prescribed medication.
Mr Robertson told the coroner that his wife had never indicated any intention to harm herself.
It was believed an overdose of medication had been instrumental in her admission to hospital.
She died in the intensive care unit on January 4, but coroner's officer Mr Geoff Cave said that there was no question of third party involvement or foul play in connection with Mrs Robertson's death.
The hearing was adjourned pending the outcome of sample tests at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
