THE death of retired carpenter Derrick King had nothing to do with his trade and the extensive exposure of wood rust, an inquest heard.
Coroner Michael Singleton said he had originally opened an inquest into Mr King's death because it may have been related to an industrial diseas. But a post-mortem examination showed that Mr King, 73, of Harwood Road, Rishton, suffered lung disease unrelated to his job and this had damaged his heart muscle. He recorded a verdict of natural causes.
