ADULTS in Bury have an opportunity to ring in the changes in the New Year thanks to Bolton and Bury Chamber's free open door adult guidance service.
If you are at a crossroads in your life or career, the independent advice service can give you the information and support to move forward.
It is open to all adults over the age of 18, whether they are already in a job or not.
Ann Brown, adult guidance adviser for the Chamber, says: "This is a totally independent and free local service."
She added: "It is designed to help people realise their own goals."
The new service will embrace those who for various reasons wish to take advantage of what's on offer. Adult guidance is designed for those who may want to brush up on their skills.
And it could also prove invaluable to mums as well as dads who wish to return to work after looking after the children.
Those who lost their jobs because of redundancy can use the adult guidance service to re-train and to put themselves in the shop window for a change of career.
People who just wish to take a college course, change jobs or to find employment after years of being unemployed will also be catered for.
Anne added: "Our experienced carers and guidance advisers are there to listen and offer the appropriate advice, information and support.
"We can offer one-to-one consultation with qualified advice and guidance professionals, help with CV and job search skills, information and advice on education, advice on training and learning options and access to the latest computer software to aid career choice."
The open door adult guidance service, which is supported by Bury's Single Regeneration Budget initiative, is based at the Chamber's Business Link headquarters in Walmersley Road.
Anyone working or living in Bury and wishing to ring in the changes in their lives can find out more about the service by telephoning the Chamber free on 0800 0285590.
