IOM Vagabonds 22 LEIGH drafted in a number of former regulars in an attempt to improve their recent poor form but they still went down 22-12 to Isle of Man touring team the Vagabonds.

Leigh defended strongly early on but were lucky when an early penalty was missed. They went close to scoring themselves through Wright but when a handling move broke down, the Vagabonds swept upfield for the opening try.

Vagabonds put Leigh under increasing pressure and they added to their lead just before half time when the scrum-half dummied his way over.

A break from Lester at the start of the second half should have brought Leigh a try but when the home team failed to clear their own line, the visitors scored a converted try from a five metre scrum to lead 17-0.

Leigh responded with the try of the match when Lee scored from 40 metres out and Fletcher added the conversion.

Vagabonds resumed their forward domination and were rewarded with a further try. As time ran out Lester crashed over for an unconverted try.
