LEIGH Conservatives have named Andrew Oxley as their choice as prospective parliamentary candidate for the next General Election.
Mr Oxley, lives in Leigh, with his wife Rosina and their 11- year-old son who goes to a local primary school.
He is an economics graduate and a qualified accountant employed by a Wigan based engineering company.
Actively involved in the 'No Xanadu' campaign he was runner-up in last year's local Wigan Council elections when he stood for the Conservatives and cut Labour's majority to 274 in Hope Carr ward.
Following his selection Mr Oxley said: "I am delighted to be able to give the voters on Leigh, Atherton and Hindley the chance to vote for a local Conservative."
