MORE Leigh businesses have joined forces to beat town centre crime.
Forty seven have now signed up to the Radio Link Network which warns of approaching known thieves and shoplifters.
The scheme keeps them in touch with the police and each other through new co-ordinator John Nolan.
John, who took over from Sue Canning, has given the system a new lease of life. Together with area police officer Steve Gaskell he has succeeded in attracting new members to the scheme in cluding business on the Parsonage Retail Park.
Other businesses are invited to join the scheme which costs £5 a week for the hire of the radio and an annual fee of £10 to pay for the radio licence.
