A WOMAN was bailed after pleading guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance and failing to surrender to bail.
Paula Schoon, 26, of Brentwood Drive, Leyland, was remanded on bail until February 16 by Blackburn magistrates.
They ordered the preparation of pre-sentence reports after hearing that Schoon had a previous conviction for driving while disqualified and had been caught behind the wheel on this occasion just three months after the magistrates in Burnley had disqualified her from driving for six months.
Sarah Perkins, defending, said that Schoon had been told that she might end up going to prison and had been too afraid to attend court.
"The fact that she has now spent a night in custody will serve as a reminder to attend on the next occasion," said Miss Perkins.
