BANKERS hope to nurture the entrepreneurs of the future with this year's Young Enterprise Scheme.
The scheme helps pupils from schools across the area find out what it is like to run their own businesses for a year.
A team of of advisers from HSBC in Blackburn will help students involved in the Blackburn and Darwen scheme to make their businesses a success.
Andrew Gibson, senior personal banking officer at HSBC Blackburn, said: "Young Enterprise provides an excellent opportunity for young people to learn about business from first-hand experience.
'It's great to be able to get involved by offering my business knowledge and skills to the students.
"Being part of Young Enterprise will also benefit me, providing me with useful experience to draw upon when I am with customers at work.
"Small business are the backbone of the British economy and I hope that many of the students will consider setting up their own businesses in the future."
