IT was interesting that your article "Do you know your borough?" (Jan 2) did not include a photo of Gigg Lane. For it must be the case that only a diehard few seem to know where it is!
The lack of support for this famous old football club from the people of Bury is truly amazing; they don't seem to realise what they have got (just ask the people of Accrington).
A major consideration of any would-be buyer of Bury FC is surely going to be the level of attendances and with gates of under 3,000 they are going to be immediately put off.
If this lack of support continues then, even if the club survive for this season, future relegation and a place in the Conference are real possibilities. I shudder at this scenario, yet the future could get yet even grimmer. So get down to Gigg Lane and make sure that never happens.
