THEFT of mobile phones is the 'in' crime. Home secretary Jack Straw has called for action to reverse the 400pc increase in two years. And he wants the phone companies to come up with ideas that will render stolen phones useless. In this day and age surely that must be easy enough. I'd personally like to snatch the phones off everyone who irritates me with their use, especially the twits in supermarkets who ring their partner to see what sort of soup they want. The amount of money that's wasted on trivial conversations could be put to use to do some good in the world.
