MEMBERS of the Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale branch of Diabetes UK handed over more than £5000 towards research into the illness at the group's 40th AGM.
Dorothy Barker, charity treasurer, presented a cheque for £5,000 to members of the Diabetes specialist team from the Health Care Trust, as well as a lap top computer and £250 to help the dieticians' work.
Consultant physician Dr Malcolm Littley chaired the meeting and gave a short talk afterwards.
