TERRY Robinson has revealed that Bury FC matches could be broadcast to millions of people in India.
Robinson said the cash-strapped Shakers had "the best people" currently working on a deal to show Bury matches in India - where the Gigg Lane club's centre forward Baichung Bhutia is captain of the national team and more popular than film stars. And there were also hints about a pre-season tour to Asia.
Appearing on TalkSPORT, the Bury chairman also spoke about the need for a 'Sugar Daddy' to buy the club to help them stay afloat and how the only thing missing from the team was goals.
He spent two hours answering fans queries and gave a revealing insight into how Bury has been run during his 18-year tenure.
Referring to the possibility of Indian broadcasts - which have the potential to raise much needed revenue - Robinson said: "We have the best representatives negotiating in India. There is the possibility of a pre-season tour and we are discussing having our matches televised.
"The most important thing is to have Baichung playing on a regular basis because that's one of the criteria stated in these contracts. But I can't tell the manager to pick someone just to sell a video.
"We have also introduced a shopping page on the internet because the web page does have a lot of support from India."
Regarding the takeover of the club Robinson revealed that four different parties had shown interest in buying Bury but so far nothing had materialised. The most likely new owner still appears to be former Chesterfield chairman Norton Lea.
Robinson said: "My understanding is that when his (Lea's) affairs are sorted out he will then progress his interest in Bury."
The chairman also said he was very happy with the current team management at the club and claimed the team were only under-achieving in terms of lack of goals.
