A BUS service for residents of the Windy Bank area of Colne has been reinstated after calls for a re-think by County Councillor Tim Ormrod.
The Waterside ward councillor took action after being contacted by local residents, left without a public transport link after the bus company suspended the Windy Bank section of the town centre service.
Highways work on the North Valley blocked entry into Windy Bank and the bus travelled further along to Skipton Road before heading for the centre -- effectively cutting Windy Bank out of the route.
Residents feared the service had ceased to exist, but now it is back, with the bus entering Windy Bank from a new route via Norfolk Street and then continuing on the former route to the centre.
One resident said: "It is a valued service and was badly missed.
"We are delighted Coun Ormrod has managed to get it reinstated."
Coun Ormrod added: "I know how much local residents rely on buses. I have checked the service and I'm pleased to see the bus is back serving local people."
