A POSTMORTEM has confirmed an elderly motorist died from a heart attack seconds before his car ploughed into parked vehicles.
Mr Ronald Carnegie (70) from Waterfold Lane, Bury, was driving his Peugeot 206 along Rochdale Road on Thursday morning (Jan 18) when it suddenly veered out of control and smashed into a parked Ford Escort and a second car.
Paramedics attempted to revive Mr Carnegie at the scene but he was pronounced dead on arrival at Bury General Hospital.
The coroner has been informed but there will not be an inquest.
