THIRTY-four days and counting . . . Bury boxing sensation Ady Lewis is itching to get back into the ring.
Monday, February 26 is the date the two-time British and Commonwealth boxing champion is looking to in a bid to regain his bantamweight crowns so controversially lost against Ulsterman Tommy Waite.
His opponent is up-and-coming Nottingham pugilist Nicky Booth, the 20-year-old who sensationally defeated Waite in the Belfast man's first title defence.
Back in September, an eye cut, caused by an accidental clash of heads, meant Waite left Bowlers, Trafford Park, with both of Lewis's belts after inexperienced referee Mark Green called a halt to the fight without giving the Bury man's corner a chance to treat the wound.
It was a bitter pill to swallow for the Mighty Atom who had clearly won all four rounds prior to the cut and forced the challenger to take a standing count with a stinging right hook in the second round.
Although nothing is written in stone yet, the Harvey Hadden Stadium in Booth's home town of Nottingham looks like being the venue for the bout which will be on Sky TV. Arrangements are expected to be finalised this week.
And it looks like being a family affair for the Booths as elder brother Jason, current British and Commonwealth Flyweight champion, is set to defend his titles on the same bill.
