WOMEN are being encouraged to produce recipes for a community day at King George's Hall, Blackburn, to celebrate international women's day.
The event will take place between 1pm and 4pm on Thursday March 8 in the Winter Suite.
Organisers want women to submit international recipes for a sweet dish which will be included in a recipe book being sold on the day.
The community day will also include the Mayoress of Blackburn, Mrs Pamela Rodgers' Mayoress at home event, as well as musical entertainment, raffles, a demonstration from the Elle Bees Beauty Salon in Blackburn and displays from the Regency Fitness Suite and Marks & Spencer.
Mrs Rodgers will judge the recipes on the day and the winner will win a voucher and VIP invitation for Blakeys bistro.
All proceeds from the joint event will be split between the Mayoress' charity It's Your Wish-The John Berry Trust and Oxfam, which will have a speaker representing it on the day.
Tickets, priced £2, are available from the Information Centre, in Railway Road or on 01254 585110 or 278090. Recipes should be sent to Sue Hughes at King George's Hall, Blackburn.
