THE Blackburn Rovers starlets who went to Brazil with England's Under 16s may miss out on the FA Youth Cup game against Colchester tonight.
Jerome Watt and Ciaran Donnelly returned from the Joao Havelange tournament last week injury-free but tired after playing five games in less than a fortnight.
Academy coach Rob Kelly said he would have a look at the pair in training before deciding whether they would play.
"Brazil was a great experience for both Ciaran and Jerome but they played in all five games, in heat, in a short space of time," he said.
"They are both in the squad for the game against Colchester but I'll have to have a look at them before I decide whether they should play."
For most of Rovers' young players, tonight's game will be their first game at Ewood Park. All Youth Cup games have to be played at the club's ground.
"The Youth Cup are the showpiece games for the players," said Kelly.
"At Northampton in the last round, it was the first time some of them had played in a stadium under floodlights and that brings a pressure all of its own."
Colchester play in the Youth Alliance South league and could prove a banana skin for Kelly's young side, some of whom are still schoolboys.
"Colchester have got one or two decent players," said Kelly. "They are well organised and they'll make it difficult for us. They won't be coming up here for a day out."
Tonight's game is free for season ticket holders and under 16s, and £3 for adults. Kick-off 7pm.
Squad: Robinson, Renton, Hockenhall, Taylor, Stone, Woodhead, Mertin, Morgan, Cole, Watt, Donnelly, Nelson, Danns, Walters, Byrne, Blakeman.
