A MAN found hanged at his home in Rossendale had been "a bit down" over family worries an inquest was told.
Twice divorced Frederick Mitchell, a 41-year-old BT engineer, died on January 17 at Cherry Tree Way, Helmshore.
When the inquest was opened at Rawtenstall Town Hall, Betty Molineux of Whince Close, Middleton, said her brother lived with his partner at the address in Helmshore.
She said before Christmas he had been a bit down because of his on and off relationship with his children.
"It was family worries really," she said.
She last spoke to him on the phone on the Saturday before he died when they laughed and shared a joke together.
The previous Wednesday he had been to her home. "He was in good spirits, he was quite jovial," she added.
The inquest was adjourned until February 8.
