TEACHERS from Estonia and Finland will visit a Blackburn primary school next month to set up a three-way partnership teaching youngsters more about Europe.
Griffin Park Primary School has won a £1,000 European Union grant to fund the project, which will eventually include exhibitions at the three schools, internet exchanges and pen-pal links.
Headteacher Craig Ward explained: "We have had a link with the Estonian school for four years, the children exchange letters and photographs.
"The Estonian school has a link with the Finnish school so last year we applied for a grant to set up the new project."
The two year project will include two teachers from each school visiting schools in the other countries.
Mr Ward said: "The children are preparing materials about their school, neighbourhood and town, and they will exchange their work with children in the other schools.
"It expands their horizons and gives them a greater understanding of life in another part of Europe that they may never have visited."
