THREE current British motorcycling champions saddled up for Bradford & District Motor Club's Howden Wood trial, including a suprise entry from Burnley's Neil Hodgson.
The reigning British Superbike champion was joined by his friend and fellow Manx resident, Dougie Lampkin, the current world and British trials champion, and his cousin James Lampkin, the Experts Trial champion.
The popular Keighley venue consisted of muddy climbs, technical rock sections, and a very long and slippery hill climb -- and as the ground thawed the sections seemed to loose what little grip they had at the start, making for a hard trial.
Sherco rider Graham Jarvis came out on top of the expert route with a clean sheet, just ahead of Dougie Lampkin, who lost of just one mark on the last lap.
Third place went to Scorpa man Martin Crosswaite with
Montesa importer Wayne Braybrook, from Burnley, finishing the day in 6th position, James Lampkin in 7th spot, and yet another Lampkin, John, in 9th.
Jake Miller emerged top of the clubmen class with a loss of 32 points.
Neil Hodgson came in from the cold in a creditable
20th, acquiring on the way round one of only three cleans on the very slippery hill on section two, thanks to the encouragement from his 'minder' Miller.
