THE 1st St Helens YMCA Scout Group are celebrating after receiving £1,685 from the 'National Lottery Millennium Awards For All.'
This will be used to buy a multi-media computer system, which will allow young people in the group to learn new skills using hands-on interactive learning packages.
The YMCA Scout Group is the oldest in St Helens, having been formed in February, 1908, and also one of the most successful.
Meetings are held at St Helens YMCA, Duke Street, every Friday from 6 to 9.30pm and cater for young people from the age seven to 20, with activities ranging from the latest technological developments to traditional Scouting pursuits.
