POLICE in St Helens are appealing for information regarding the whereabouts of a valuable mountain bike which was stolen while a potential buyer was taking it out on a test ride.
The theft happened at about 7.30pm on Monday, January 15 on Crow Lane East in Newton. The potential buyer had taken the yellow and black Coyote DH2, custom-built mountain bike, which has been valued at £3,000, out on the roads when a white, F-registered, Astra van drove up and someone got out and pushed him off. The bike was then thrown into the back of the van which drove off, leaving the victim with minor head injuries.
