DURING a Christmas holiday to Florida, Gregory Whitehead aged 10 of Clifton Primary School met his tennis idols Venus and Serena Williams. Gregory competed in two tennis tournaments and received the third place consolation winners to play in the USTA Florida Championships held at the Casely Tennis Academy, Miami and the Junior Tangerine Bowl held at Lake Cane Orlando at which he beat the seeded number three, Matt Saltsgaver (6-4, 4-6, 7-1). Gregory is a member of South Shore Tennis Club, has been playing for 18 months and his coach Judi Morris awarded him the most improved player of the year 2000.
