Lytham 1st XI 3 Springfields 1st XI 2
LSA's top form continued with another good win over their local rivals Springfields.
Their first 15 minutes were superb with good fast passing movements on a difficult sandy pitch.
They were rewarded when an accurate Dave Robbins pass found Chris Hadley well placed to deflect the ball into goal.
Springfields drew level following a penalty corner, and after half-time they scored again with a striker had a good run and finish.
LSA rallied and showed great determination and spirit to bring the scores level.
Duncan Shields provided a good pass for Chris Simcock to score from five yards and then with eight minutes to go Chris Kay converted a well worked penalty corner to win the match. Lytham 2nd XI 2 Springfields 0
THIS is possibly LSA's best performance of the season.
They came out with all guns blazing, completely dominating the first fifteen minutes but spurning many clear cut chances.
They eventually were rewarded with a good Richard Isherwood goal.
The second half was a tense affair at times but eventually their efforts brought the success they needed when Isherwood scored the winner, his sixth goal in two matches after a break from the club earlier in the season.
Altogether a good all round performance to improve their lowly league position.
Lytham 3rd XI drew 1-1 against an experienced Winnington Park side with David Bleasdale converting a penalty stroke to equalise.
Lytham 4th XI beat Northrop Hall 2-1 with goals from Andy Pothecary and Jake Lavin.
