YMCA U12s 1 SOUTH SHORE YOUTH 1
THE first half was end-to-end and both sides served up good entertainment on a pitch which was slippy on top. At the interval it was 0-0 and the deadlock was finally broken when the impressive Nicky Vann put YMCA ahead. The visitors continued to battle and 10 minutes from time they capitalised on a defensive error to make it 1-1. YMCA looked to grab a winner in the last minute but Shore's keeper pulled off a great save. James Cain was notable in the heart of YMCA's defence.
YMCA U14s 9 SOUTH SHORE 0
LEAGUE leaders YMCA, with only one defeat so far this season proved far too strong for Shore. After Lee Glickman put them ahead they coasted into a 5-0 lead at the break. YMCA's dominance continued and they added a further four goals.
Glickman notched his second with Sean Atkinson and Scott Park both notching two apiece also. YMCA's scoring was completed by Sean Whiteside, Alan O'Loughlan and a Carl Bennett penalty.
YMCA U15s 0 FOXHALL 3 (Hogan Cup first round)
YMCA were desperately unlucky to be eliminated from the Hogan Cup. The slippery pitch made conditions difficult but YMCA adapted well and created numerous chances. But Foxhall's goal somehow remained intact and in a rare venture into the home side's half they snatched the lead when the conditions caused a defensive error. It remained 1-0 at the break and within a minute of the restart the visitors grabbed a second goal. YMCA continued to push forward but again bad luck plus good goalkeeping kept them at bay and Foxhall grabbed a third goal in the closing minutes. Danny Murphy was outstanding in YMCA's midfield with Ben Marks and Jacob Lavin also notable in a hard-working and spirited team display.
SOUTH SHORE YOUTH U17s 2 YMCA 4
SHORE took an early lead but a double strike by Adam Albrech gave YMCA a 2-1 interval lead. Anthony Fecitt and recent signing Adam Tinker added further goals for the visitors but Shore replied again and could have reduced the score further from a penalty award but YMCA keeper Richard Whiteside made a fine save. Chris Haines impressed in a very competent YMCA performance.
ALL the other matches in the junior league were postponed due to frozen pitches.
