AN East Lancashire company is flying high after assembling part of the T45 Goshawk training plane.
Brookhouse Aerospace Ltd has carried out the assembly of the side structure main panels for the BAE Systems manufacture aircraft.
The T45 is supplied to the US Navy via Boeing for aircraft carrier pilot training.
It is an adaptation of the successful Hawk trainer and has been re-engineered to withstand the rigours of service at sea.
Brookhouse, which has a base at India Mill, Darwen, was awarded the contract to assemble the side structure, which is located on the main fuselage panel on either side of the engine, because of the successful work that the company has already been carried out on various other structural components of the aircraft.
