FIREFIGHTERS were given a warm welcome by hordes of screaming women when they turned out at a Bury pub and were mistaken for strippers!
The officers, wearing full rescue gear, walked into Chicago Rock Cafe in Haymarket Street, as a hen-night was in full swing.
Station Officer Paul Myerscough, who was the first to enter the pub, said: "We had a pop-star welcome. They must have thought we were the strippers.
"We checked the building after a fire alarm had been activated but there was no problem. We left very quickly."
