A CHANGE in the law has occurred at Citheroe Police Station -- in the form of Sgt Rob Evans.
Sgt Evans, 26, lives in Worsthorne and has seven years' service under his belt.
For the past two-and-a-half years he has been acting sergeant at stations in Accrington, Great Harwood and Blackburn, as well as carrying out duties as tutor constable for more than fours years.
He joined the Clitheroe branch earlier this week.
"I am very much looking forward to getting to know the Ribble Valley and its people better," said Sgt Evans, whose first job is to introduce a new rota system which has increased duty rotas from the current four weeks to five weeks and altered shift patterns from eight hours to 10.
He will certainly find the area different to others he has been used to. The Ribble Valley is the biggest policing area in Lancashire and the second largest in the country.
In June, he says goodbye to his bachelor days when he marries fiance Lisa Szafar, a police constable at Accrington. They are currently looking for somewhere to live in the Valley.
