A DISUSED church building listed as of Grade two importance could be turned into homes.
Hindsford St Anne's Church was made redundant over a year ago by the Church of England's Manchester Diocese.
It was taken out of commission because of structural defects which the diocese deemed too expensive to repair. Diocesan communications director Steve Goddard explained: "The church building was put on the market but response was poor.
"As a listed building it would arrive with strings attached to any developer.
"Although some interest was shown in converting the buildings for residential use no definite plans are going through at present.
"The diocese is in on-going discussion with the local authority and local bodies in the area about change of use for the building and will notify interested parties in due course."
