DRIVERS could face delays in the area due to road works.
Carriageway and resurfacing work is being carried out in Leigh Road, Hindley Green -- between Pauline Street and Coal Pit Lane.
The road will be closed at this point for the next two weekends (January 27/28 and February 3/4).
Diversions will be signed via Nel Pan Lane, Westleigh Lane, Corner Lane and Atherton Road. In Leigh, work continues on Breaston Bridge, Warrington Road -- inconvenience may be experienced at certain times.
Also in Leigh, King Street, Market Street, Market Place and Leigh Road will be affected by footpath and carriageway work in connection with the Leigh-Bolton Quality Bus Corridor and town centre enhancement works. Water main refurbishment in Tyldesley, Atherton and Abram will last several months with many streets affected.
Householders will be informed when water has to be cut off.
In Golborne, carriageway and footways are being resurfaced in Church Street.
The stretch affected is between Cottesmore Way and Lowton Road and temporary traffic signals will be used during the week.
Resurfacing will be completed over the next two weekends -- January 27/28 and February 3/4 -- when the road will be closed so the work can be carried out safely.
Other carriageway and footways are being resurfaced in Lime Grove/Heathmoor Avenue, Lowton and Knowsley Avenue, Golborne.
This work is scheduled to finish early next month.
