upsets Nelson COLNE 0 BLACKPOOL MEC 3
COLNE's 14th defeat of the season last night was a particular disappointment -- to local rivals Nelson!
For victorious Blackpool Mechanics now move above Nelson to head the NWCL Second Division table on goal difference.
Colne put up a spirited performance and were holding their own until Robbie Park engineered the Mechanics opener in the 37th minute.
Colne remained in the game in the early stages of the second half before two goals in five minutes -- a second for Park and one for Westley Collins -- put the visitors on the victory road.
This latest setback in a dismal season sees Colne stay in 18th position with just 10 points from 18 matches.
They are in a desperate scramble to avoid occupying a re-election place come the end of the season.
Two clubs have to apply and the two currently below them, Ashton Town and Oldham, currently with six points and four points respectively, have three and four games in hand on the men from Holt House.
