COUNCILLOR Derek Boden's recent comment that "the days when you can drive whenever and wherever you wish have gone" is nothing more than an excuse to levy another tax burden on motorists.
As discussions have already taken place with other councils in Greater Manchester, it seems to me that the only thing to be decided at local level is the scale of charges!
I wonder how these charges will affect the stallholders on Bury's famous market if their customers have to pay twice for using local town centre roads, and then parking their cars?
