UNFORTUNATELY, Mr K Malpass, of Clement Street, Darwen, isn't telling the whole story regarding his local councillors, cleansing issues, etc (Letters, January 23).
Since 1986, every house in Clement Street has received at least 75 leaflets, newsletters etc from local councillors. During that time, local Labour councillors have held 155 advice surgeries, which are held within 400 yards of Clement Street.
In addition, regular street surgeries are held, including the Clement Street area.
Despite this, Mr Malpass has chosen not to contact his local councillors to discuss those issues that concern him
As local councillors, we pride ourselves in keeping in touch with residents in Sunnyhurst Ward.
If any resident wishes to contact us, or for us to visit them, all they have to do is pick up the phone, write, e-mail or come along to our regular advice surgery. Lots of other people do -- why doesn't Mr Malpass?
COUNCILLORS DAVE HOLLINGS, SUE REID and DAVE SMITH (Sunnyhurst Ward), Labour Party Office, Bolton Road, Darwen.
