BACUP BOROUGH 3 STONE DOMINOES 1
BACUP claimed the scalp of NWCL Division Two table toppers Stone Dominoes with Brent Peters side taking command from the whistle.
Bacup opened their account in the 28th minute when Damien Moran latched onto a pass from the right to slot the ball past the keeper.
The home side went further in front four minutes into the second half when following a corner, Ian McLellan rose above the Stone defence to head the ball over the keeper into the roof of the net.
In the 78th minute Bacup's Nicky Taylor, who had been causing the Stone defence problems all afternoon, picked up the ball just on the halfway line, went on a solo run, beat two players on the edge of the box and put in a shot that the Stone keeper could only parry and the ball came back to Nicky who made no mistake second time.
Stone pulled one back just before the end through Neil Morrell.
Bacup face Skelmersdale tomorrow night onin the replay of the LFA Marsden Trophy at Bacup, kick off 8pm.
