SWINDON 3 BURY 0

BURY are in freefall, dropping closer to the relegation zone, after another poor performance in a run which has seen them gather just six points from a possible 48.

The Shakers have slumped from the top half of the table down to three places above the relegation spots -- and they have played more games than the teams around them.

The pressure is mounting on beleaguered manager Andy Preece.

Preece, who had named himself as one of the substitutes, remained on the pitch throughout the half time interval "warming up" for an appearance which never came.

And the likeable Preece also declined to speak to the press following the game.

It took only four minutes for Bury to fall behind to a goal from Michael Reddy, making his debut on loan for the Robins, who moved out of the drop zone with the win.

And nine minutes later defender Sam Collins gave away a penalty which Keith O'Halloran tucked away.

Bury's game plan of playing six defenders was thus devoid of purpose being two down after 13 minutes and though they had the greater of the share of possession, in truth Bury have no cutting edge up front, which has been their downfall all season.

Goalkeeping hero Paddy Kenny was at fault with Steve Cowe's third goal in a dismal second half which saw Swindon break their four-match run without a win. For Bury, they have now recorded just one win in 16 games.
