LOLLIPOP men and women in Leigh and Atherton have been given rights to guide adults as well as school children across roads.
New Government rules mean that, from this week, the patrols can legally help anyone who needs assistance. Until now patrols have only legally been allowed to stop traffic to help children.
Darren Barton, Wigan Council's road safety officer, said: "It's important all motorists realise the rules have changed."
