FIREARMS including a 357 Magnum handgun were recovered when police raided a house in Stacksteads.
They also found 20 live rounds of ammunition and four air rifles.
Police went to the house in Brandwood Road, Stacksteads, in a pre-planned operation following reports of a domestic related incident at an address in Newchurch-in-Rossendale on Sunday.
Detective Inspector Graham Herrman said that following initial inquiries a pre-planned operation was carried out yesterday involving the divisional support unit.
As a result Andrew West, 28, was arrested on suspicion of assault. He was later charged with offences including firearms allegations, making threats to kill and assault. He was appearing before magistrates in Burnley today.
Firearms officers attended to make the weapons safe and investigations were continuing to trace where the weapons originated.
