NO-ONE will enjoy Leigh's fourth round Silk Cut Challenge Cup tie against Super League neighbours Salford City Reds more than the four former Willows players in the Centurions' squad.

Simon Svabic, John Duffy, Dave Bradbury and Chris Morley have all played in the top flight with Reds and will relish the tie at Hilton Park on Sunday week.

"It's a great draw for us," says Leigh's head coach Paul Terzis. "It gives us the chance to test our progress against a Super League side. Of course our three ex-Salford lads won't need motivating for this one."

But Salford will be without ex-international scrum-half Bobbie Goulding who will miss the tie because of a broken thumb. However Salford will include former Aussie Test star, the ex-Brisbane Broncos winger Michael Hancock.

Wigan coach Frank Endacott admitted his club had been handed the "toughest possible draw" when they were paired with Super League champions St Helens.

"We're getting them on a high and it's going to be a tough game, there is no doubt about that, but we're looking forward to beating the world champions," said the New Zealander.

The mouth-watering clash has scuppered plans by Saints' coach Ian Millward to give some of his world champions a breather.

Had Saints been paired with a Northern Ford Premiership club in the fourth round of the Silk Cut Challenge Cup, Millward would have taken the opportunity to rest some of his players following their heroics against Brisbane Broncos.

But Millward now plans to have all his big guns firing against Frank Endacott's men as he looks forward to a full house at Knowsley Road.

The biggest derby in rugby league, which is the only all-Super League clash of the fourth round, will be played on Saturday, February 10, and shown live on BBC Grandstand.

"It's not something that is worrying us," said Millward. "We've had a very hard game and we feel ready to go.

"For us to win it, we are going to have to play the high-credential teams and, whether we play them now or in the quarter-finals or semi-finals, to win the competition you've got to beat the best teams.

"If we had drawn a Northern Ford Premiership club, I would have rested a lot of players and given the young kids a game, but we will have everybody playing apart from Paul Wellens, who is doubtful."

England full-back Wellens is facing a month's lay-off after discovering that he sustained a fractured eye socket in Saints' 20-18 World Club Challenge win over Brisbane.

Millward will choose between Anthony Stewart, Dwayne West and Steve Hall as his replacement.

Giant-killers Woolston Rovers, the only amateur team in the last 32, were handed a dream tie with Warrington, their Super League neighbours.
