I AM writing this to express my anger at the fickle nature of a few Burnley fans: it has gone too far.
On Tuesday, I heard the fans booed Stan Ternent, for replacing Andy Payton. I found out Payton was injured while Stan said afterwards his time (at the club) may be up.
This was probably said on the spur of the moment, but contributes to a worrying picture.
What is the fans' problem? Ternent has taken us from despair to a top-30 place in the country. The man has Claret and Blue blood and Burnley in his heart.
It shows fans make a football club, but can also destroy one.
I do not want to stand by as our so-called fans ruin another great manager -- the best Burnley has had for over a decade.
True, Stan does not get it right all the time (who does in life)? We may not always be playing great football; but you cannot have everything, all the time.
When will the minority of Burnley fans see this.
As John Major once said, it is time to "put up or shut up." I believe they would be better supporting another team rather than ruining ours.
Football is about opinions. I only encourage that, but the simple fact is judgments are being made about players without knowing the full picture. Or judgments are being made after a few defeats in a row.
Aren't we in the top 10?
I will support Stan and trust him. Let's hope he can keep up the good work.
JAMES MALCOLM, Burnley.
