FUNDRAISERS for the Macmillan Windmill Appeal in Blackpool are singing the praises of Hodgson High School Choir after they donated £200 from their Christmas Carol Singing Day.
Patricia Langley, director of the choir and a music teacher at the Poulton school, said the 50-strong group hold a carol singing day every Christmas to raise money for charity, and this Christmas it was on December 15.
Patricia said: "In the past we have raised money for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, but last September a friend of mine in Blackpool died of cancer. They were looked after in the Windmill Suite at Blackpool Victoria Hospital and I decided that last year we would raise money for the Windmill Appeal."
The choir performed throughout the day at Hodgson High School and also sang outside the Teanlowe Centre in Poulton where they had collection tins.
Patricia added: "We enjoyed the day tremendously -- we got a lot from it and are glad that as a result the money will go towards helping others."
