THATTO Heath Crusaders' BARLA National Cup second round home tie with West Bowling ended in chaos on Saturday when the referee blew for full-time believing the visitors to have won 26-24.
In fact, the game had ended all square at 24-24 and the sides should have played 20 minutes extra time. However, by the time officials had managed to convince the referee that the game had, indeed, been, drawn, the Bradford team apparently declined to return to the pitch.
After a ruling by BARLA, it was decided that the game will be replayed at Red Rocks this Saturday with the governing body agreeing to reimburse West Bowling for the travel costs incurred in the original fixture.
The dubious reward for the eventual winners is a trip to Woolston Rovers -- conquerors of professional Chorley Lynx in the RL Challenge Cup -- in the next round.
