Clock Face Miners 6 Crosfields A 22
TRIES either side of the break settled the outcome of this clash as Clock went down to promotion hopefuls Crosfields.
The visitors scored an unconverted try in their first attack but from then on defences were on top with Mark Chatterton, Neil Scott and Damian Grimes prominent for Clock.
And the home side finally opened their account when Dean Barber weaved his way through to score with Anthony Wall converting to make it 6-4.
Right on half-time though Crosfields regained the lead when they grabbed a converted try.
Two further converted touchdowns early in the second period put the Warrington outfit firmly in the driving seat at 22-6.
To their credit, Clock kept plugging away and Barber was unlucky to have what looked like a good second 'try' ruled out by the referee.
The Clock Face Hotel man-of-the-match went to Mike Chatterton, with Barber and Ant Fildes also prominent.
