GOING up or down, gentlemen?
I though at the start of the season that neither of our clubs would have to worry about the relegation trapdoor, but a look at the conference league table is a bit of a shock.
Meanwhile, while City are miles away from the top of the Unibond league table, you can hardly dispute that they are going places.
Tony Hesketh has built a squad which seems to have that elusive mixture of youth and experience that sides at every level look for.
What's more, Hesketh has the uncanny knack of picking up a bargain basement player from the lower leagues - witness Phil Brown and Colin Potts, his latest two discoveries.
He has also had few problems bouncing back from the loss of two key centre halves in Leigh's sadly injured Jamie Udall and new Blackpool physio Phil Horner.
It's a pity that a few more people can't make it down to Giant Axe on a regular basis though. What's keeping you away folks?
The atmosphere is extremely friendly, the football is of an excellent quality, the pies aren't bad and the location is one of the most beautiful in British football. Pity about Dolly the Blue, but nobody's perfect.
As for Morecambe, they seem inexplicably drawn towards the bottom end of the table, and the next few weeks look extremely busy, with games in hand on the rest of the conference.
