MERSEYSIDE police have confirmed that there are no immediate plans to introduce 'citizens' police patrols' which are in place in some parts of the UK.
The pilot scheme, which is currently running in Yorkshire, encourages local citizens to monitor speed limits within their area. Instead, Merseyside Metropolitan Police have said that they are concentrating on a training scheme for police officers and traffic wardens which will clamp down on speeding drivers.
