A MAJOR new survey is being launched into lifestyles in St Helens and Knowsley.
Funded by the Merseyside Health Action Zone, the survey will be carried out by the institute of public health research and policy at the University of Salford.
More than 6,500 questionnaires will be delivered, asking questions about people's general level of health, feelings, exercise, diet and households.
This is said to be the first time that a major survey into general aspects of health and lifestyle has been conducted in this area.
Mike Sandys, research and development strategy manager at the health authority, said: "The results of this survey should provide us with reliable information that we can use when planning the provision of health services.
"I would like to encourage everyone who receives a survey to complete it for us -- all results will be treated in complete confidence.
If anyone has any queries about the survey they can contact me at the health authority on 01744 45 7364."
