MARIE Curie Cancer Care has joined forces with local line dance school, 'Pete's Stompers,' to organise a sponsored marathon line dancing session to raise money for the charity.
The Line Dance Challenge is being held at St Helens Town Hall on Saturday, February 17, from 10am to 4pm, and organisers are calling on people to dance away the hours to help people suffering from cancer.
Local dance instructor, Pete Derbyshire will be hosting the event and everyone is welcome.
He said: "It's a pleasure to be able to bring both beginners and experienced line dancers from across the area, together for such a worthy cause. I will be joined by other guest instructors and we've got some great music lined up."
All money raised will be used to fund the work of Marie Curie Nurses and for research into finding new cures for cancer.
Application forms are available from the Marie Curie Cancer Care shop in Cotham Street, St Helens, or from area fund-raiser Suzanne Jones on 01625 584575.
