EAST Lancashire soap star Julie Hesmondhalgh is urging volunteers to embark on the trip of a lifetime which will also raise money for charity.
Julie, who plays Hayley in Coronation Street, has teamed up with on-screen husband Roy -- David Neilson -- and Sally Whittaker, who plays Sally Webster, to enrol volunteers for a 100km trek along an ancient trail in Peru.
The walk, in September, leads to the lost city of Machu Picchu and aims to raise £350,000 for Scope, a leading disability charity for people with cerebral palsy.
Julie, who is from Church, said: "We are delighted to support Scope because we know just how important their work is and this trip really will be the experience of a lifetime."
Volunteers interested need to raise a minimum sponsorship of £2,500 for Scope.
