THE 1960s will be the theme of this year's Todmorden Charity Carnival.
The committee is well on the way to organising the event, to be held in Centre Vale Park, Todmorden, on Saturday May 26.
It will be followed by a giant car-boot sale and market on Bank Holiday Monday May 28.
Head of publicity Jacqui Goggs said: "We want people to get out those glad-rags from the Sixties -- hot pants, flower power, loons, Beatlemania and so on. Anything goesy."
Many local firms have offered to lend a lorry as a float for the procession through the town. Any local group or organisation wanting to enter should contact Jacqui on 01706 812836. There are lots of cash prizes waiting to be won. Anyone interested in holding a stall on carnival day or at the car-boot and market can contact Philip Clarke on 01706 816819.
Proceeds go to local charities.
