Bert with one of the exhibits on show at Colne Library
PHOTOGRAPHS of Colne taken by local historian Bert Hindle are on show at Colne library. His collection dates back to copies of photographs of the bucket toilets of the 1800s, through millennium celebrations and the opening of the Waterside Millennium Green.
Many of the 100 photos on display are in colour and all are the work of the local historian and cameraman. Mr Hindle, 79, a native of Carleton, near Skipton, has lived in Colne for half a century.
The exhibition, which continues until the end of the month shows life in the town through the last century. Also on show is the Pendle Movie Makers' video of the Millennium Year in Colne.
One of the 16 or so members, Bert said: "We are looking for people interested in video recording to join. Anyone interested can come along to our meeting tomorrow at the Blind Centre, Derby Street, or contact Peter Copestake on 01282 864058."
Also on show in a cabinet in the library foyer is a collection of old cameras and photographic equipment.
